Mumbai, September 23, 2026: A modern medical ward will soon be established at Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi to provide immediate medical assistance to Maharashtra representatives, government officials, dignitaries and citizens visiting Delhi for official or other work.
The proposed facility will provide basic medical check-ups, essential medical tests, preliminary diagnosis and medicines, particularly in emergency situations.
The initiative has been taken by Health Minister Prakash Abitkar under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar.
A meeting was recently held at Arogya Bhavan in Mumbai to review the proposed medical ward. Discussions focused on its design, location, required medical facilities, equipment, manpower and administrative procedures.
The Health Services Commissioner will visit Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi to inspect the proposed location and assess the facilities required for the medical ward. Based on the inspection, further action will be taken.
Officials have also been directed to prepare the necessary proposal immediately and submit it for Cabinet approval. Once administrative approval is received, the construction of the medical ward will be expedited.
Health Department Secretary E. Ravindran, Director of Health Services Dr. Nitin Ambadekar, Joint Director Dr. Dilip Mane and senior officials of the department attended the meeting.
