Ranchi, September 12: The 62nd Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries was held at the Chamber Bhawan under the chairmanship of President Aditya Malhotra. A total of 156 members, along with office-bearers of various district chambers, businessmen, entrepreneurs and professionals, attended the meeting.
General Secretary Rohit Agrawal presented the Chamber’s annual activity report, which was unanimously approved by the members. Treasurer Anil Agrawal presented the balance sheet and income-expenditure statement for the financial year 2025-26, which was passed by voice vote. M/s J.N. Agrawal & Company was reappointed as the Chamber’s auditor for another year.
Addressing the meeting, President Aditya Malhotra said that 2026 had been a year of significant achievements for the Federation. For the first time, the Federation participated in the World Economic Forum in Davos as part of the official delegation of the Jharkhand Government, where the state’s industrial potential and investment opportunities were showcased on a global platform.
He said the Federation had taken important initiatives on issues including regularisation of unauthorised buildings, keeping the Pandra Agricultural Market Yard free from counting activities, problems related to agricultural markets and industrial areas, banking facilities and business security. To promote investment and trade, the Federation also established contact with the embassies of 114 countries, signed MoUs with various institutions and facilitated opportunities linked to business delegations from Singapore and Japan.
He said the Federation’s efforts towards setting up an IT Park and NIFT in Jharkhand had also yielded positive results. He added that the Federation’s goal is to make Jharkhand a leading destination in the country for investment, industry, employment and new technology.
During the meeting, members stood up and applauded President Aditya Malhotra, appreciating his tenure and the work carried out by the Chamber under his leadership.
Chamber Elections to Be Held on Sunday
Election officers Anchal Kinger and Pawan Sharma briefed members about the election process. They said voting will be held on Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM at Marwari Bhawan, Harmu Road. Counting of votes and declaration of results will follow the polling.
Three regional vice-presidents were declared elected unopposed: Amarjeet Singh Saluja (Koylanchal), Vijay Anand Munka (Kolhan) and Vinay Kumar Agrawal (North Chotanagpur).
Elections for 21 executive committee members as well as regional vice-president posts for the Palamu, South Chotanagpur and Santhal Pargana divisions will also be held on Sunday.
Election Committee Co-Chairman Pawan Sharma appealed to members to cooperate in conducting the election peacefully. He also urged members to use walking, bicycles or public transport to reach the polling venue to avoid disruption to city traffic.
