Chamber delegation meets Traffic SP Rakesh Singh, also suggests exemption from 5 PM to 7 PM
Ranchi, September 18, 2026: The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries has demanded permission for three-wheeler goods vehicles carrying essential commodities to enter and operate in Ranchi during no-entry hours. A chamber delegation led by President Tulsi Patel met Traffic SP Rakesh Singh and discussed the issue.
Tulsi Patel said that no-entry restrictions are currently in force in Ranchi urban areas from 9 AM to 11 AM and from 5 PM to 7 PM. Due to these restrictions, small goods vehicles engaged in the supply of essential commodities are facing considerable difficulties. Timely delivery of goods to shops and markets is being affected, creating challenges for the supply system.
The Chamber President said that such three-wheeler goods vehicles had earlier been permitted to operate during no-entry hours. However, the permission was not extended after its validity expired. He said that the restriction had earlier been considered necessary due to traffic management issues arising from flyover construction in the city.
Tulsi Patel pointed out that construction of all three flyovers in Ranchi has now been completed and traffic movement has become normal. In view of the changed circumstances, he urged the authorities to consider allowing three-wheeler goods vehicles carrying essential commodities to enter and operate during no-entry hours as was permitted earlier.
He further suggested that if exemption during the morning no-entry period from 9 AM to 11 AM is not possible, at least essential goods vehicles should be allowed during the evening no-entry period from 5 PM to 7 PM.
Traffic SP Rakesh Singh assured the delegation that the suggestions would be reviewed and an appropriate decision would be taken.
