PIL Filed in Jharkhand High Court Seeking CBI Probe into Alleged Irregularities in 14th JPSC Exam
Ranchi, August 13, 2026: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Jharkhand High Court seeking a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Civil Services Examination and various JPSC and JSSC examinations conducted by TDPL.
The petitioner, Basant Prasad, has sought an independent and impartial investigation into the entire matter. The petition alleges large-scale irregularities in the 14th JPSC Civil Services Examination, including serious allegations of candidates allegedly being facilitated in exchange for money.
The case is currently being investigated by the CID. However, the petitioner has questioned whether the existing investigation is sufficient to uncover the full extent of the alleged irregularities and has sought a probe by an independent central agency such as the CBI.
Alleged Involvement of Influential Persons
The petitioner has told the court that the involvement of several influential individuals may emerge during the investigation. The plea argues that a CBI probe would ensure an independent and comprehensive investigation into all aspects of the alleged examination irregularities.
TDPL-Conducted Examinations Also Under Scrutiny
The PIL has also sought an investigation into various JPSC and JSSC examinations conducted by TDPL in Jharkhand. The petitioner has alleged that candidates were allegedly given undue advantage and made successful through improper means in some of these examinations.
The petitioner has urged the High Court to direct a CBI investigation into the 14th JPSC Civil Services Examination as well as all JPSC and JSSC examinations conducted by TDPL, and to order a comprehensive probe into the alleged irregularities in the examination process.
