A one-day training program on Routine Immunization (RI) was organized at the Civil Surgeon's office for newly appointed Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) in the Ranchi urban area. The objective of the training was to equip the newly appointed ANMs with essential information and practical skills regarding the RI schedule, vaccine management, cold chain maintenance, and the delivery of quality immunization services to beneficiaries.
The training program was conducted under the guidance of the District Reproductive and Child Health Officer (DRCHO), Dr. Asim Manjhi, and the WHO State Monitoring Officer (SMO), Dr. Sudhanand. During the session, participants were provided with detailed information on the importance of the routine immunization program, the effective conduct of immunization sessions, the management of Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI), and the proper maintenance of immunization-related records.
The trainers highlighted that routine immunization is the most effective means of protecting children and pregnant women from various life-threatening diseases. They emphasized that newly appointed ANMs are a vital link in the healthcare system and play a crucial role in extending immunization services to the last person in the community.
At the conclusion of the training, all participants were urged to ensure that immunization services reach every eligible beneficiary while strictly adhering to the guidelines of the routine immunization program.
