Strictness on Road Safety: Directives Issued for Strict Action Against Drunk Drivers
Lohardaga, April 11: A meeting of the District-Level Road Safety Committee was held in the Collectorate conference hall, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tarachand. He issued directives to take strict action against drunk drivers and two-wheeler riders riding without helmets by conducting regular inspection drives at identified locations. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to expedite the referral of cases related to road accidents to the MACT Court to ensure that victim families receive compensation.
The Municipal Council was directed to remove encroachments; the NH Department was instructed to prune trees and install rumble strips; and the Education Department was directed to raise awareness among students regarding traffic rules. Hindalco was asked to conduct TB screenings for its employees and to ensure the regular medical examination of its vehicle drivers.
