Panchayat Elections in the State Will Be Held on Schedule: Deepika Pandey Singh
Ranchi: Jharkhand's Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Deepika Pandey Singh, stated that the Panchayat elections in the state will be conducted exactly as scheduled, and there will be no delay of any kind. She informed that the department is actively engaged in election preparations, and officials have been instructed to complete all necessary procedures within the stipulated timeframe.
The Minister remarked that Panchayat elections strengthen the very foundation of democracy; therefore, conducting them in a time-bound manner is a priority for the government. Regarding the issue of OBC reservation, she noted that a proposal seeking 27 percent reservation has been submitted to the Central Government, and a positive assurance has been received in this regard. She clarified that the Panchayat elections scheduled for next year will indeed be held with the provision for OBC reservation.
