Selection of Coaches from Across the Country; Successful Participants to Receive Level-1 Certification
New Delhi/Ranchi: With the objective of strengthening the sport at the grassroots level within the country, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) will organize a "Coaches Development Program (Grassroots Level)" from April 18 to April 27, 2026. This training program will be held at the National Centre of Excellence located in Guwahati, Assam, and in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
For this program, nominations have been invited for three coaches each (including at least one female coach) from State Badminton Associations, Associate Members, and the Sports Authority of India (SAI). Participants must be between 25 and 45 years of age and are required to possess prior experience representing their state in National or Zonal Championships.
This eight-day training program will provide instruction encompassing both technical and practical aspects of coaching. On the final day of the program, participants will undergo a grading assessment; coaches who achieve an 'A' grade will be awarded the BAI Level-1 Certification.
BAI will provide facilities for accommodation, meals, local transport, and a travel allowance (equivalent to AC-III Tier fare) for the selected coaches. The deadline for submitting nominations has been set for April 10, 2026, and applications will be accepted exclusively through the respective State Associations, submitted in the prescribed format.
This initiative is expected to not only lend fresh strength to the grassroots level of badminton across the country but also foster the development of a robust network of trained coaches.
