Rajiv Kumar Tiwari Demands Dearness Allowance for Home Guard Personnel on Par with Police
Ranchi: Rajiv Kumar Tiwari, State General Secretary of the Jharkhand Home Guard Welfare Association, has urged the Chief Minister to grant Home Guard personnel a Dearness Allowance equivalent to that received by police personnel. He stated that Home Guard personnel serve shoulder-to-shoulder with the police in various capacities, including maintaining law and order, disaster management, election duties, and VIP security across the state. While the government's decision to implement "equal pay for equal work" is commendable, the lack of parity in the Dearness Allowance is causing financial hardships for these personnel. He requested that whenever the Dearness Allowance for police personnel is increased, Home Guard personnel should be accorded the same benefit in the same proportion, in order to sustain their morale and provide them with relief from the rising cost of living.
