🔴 Innocent Child Separated in Crowd; Ranchi Police Steps In as Support — Safely Reunited with Family
Ranchi: On March 22, 2026, during the procession organized on the occasion of the nature festival 'Sarhul,' a young child became separated from his family near Kachari Chowk, Ranchi. Alert citizens present at the scene demonstrated promptness by handing the child over to the police personnel stationed on duty.
The police immediately took the child into their care and safely housed him at the CCR Control Room. Simultaneously, an alert was issued from the Control Room to all police stations, and a search for his family members was initiated via wireless communication and social media channels. Despite extensive efforts continuing late into the night, the whereabouts of the family could not be ascertained.
The following morning, around 10:00 AM, the child's family received information regarding his whereabouts; subsequently, his grandmother and maternal aunt arrived at the CCR Control Room. They revealed that the child's mother had passed away and his father was unwell. They explained that the child had gotten separated from them amidst the crowd at Kachari Chowk while they were participating in the Sarhul procession. The family had conducted an extensive search on their own, but due to the dense crowd, they were unable to locate the child and spent the entire night in distress.
Upon receiving information from residents of their locality that morning, they proceeded to the CCR, where they found the child safe and sound. However, the child was initially reluctant to leave with them immediately.
Acting under the directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi, police teams from the Kotwali and Gonda police stations safely escorted the child, his grandmother, and his maternal aunt in a police vehicle to their residence in Hathiagonda, located within the Gonda police station jurisdiction. Upon reaching the residence, the child was reunited with his father and was safely handed over to the care of his family members.
The child was overjoyed to be reunited with his family. The family expressed their deep gratitude to the Ranchi Police for their sensitivity, promptness, and dedication.
