Gangaur Festival Celebrated with Traditional Fervor in Ranchi
Ranchi: The Gangaur Festival—celebrated by the Marwari and Rajasthani communities in the state capital, Ranchi—was once again observed this year with deep reverence, devotion, and enthusiasm. Adorned in traditional attire, women performed ritualistic worship of Goddess Gangaur, enhancing the dignity of the festival with auspicious songs. Married women prayed for the happiness and prosperity of their families, while unmarried young women offered prayers for finding a desirable life partner. In the evening, gathering along the banks of various ponds and water bodies, the women immersed the idols of Gangaur amidst folk songs and dance performances. Sanjay Sarraf, Joint General Secretary of the Jharkhand Provincial Marwari Conference, stated that this festival stands as a symbol of culture and social unity.
