₹2.03 Lakhs in Fines, 7 Vehicles Seized During Intensive Vehicle Inspection Drive
Ranchi, March 28, 2026: Acting under the directives of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri, an intensive vehicle inspection drive was conducted across the district. Led by District Transport Officer Akhilesh Kumar, enforcement actions were carried out in the Kanke Road, Ring Road, Mesra, Ormanjhi, and Tupudana areas. During the drive, the documents of 167 vehicles were scrutinized, covering aspects such as tax compliance, fitness certificates, insurance, PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificates, permits, and driving licenses. Upon detecting violations of regulations, fines totaling ₹2.03 lakhs were imposed on 8 vehicles, while 7 vehicles were seized. The administration has announced that special vigilance will be maintained regarding vehicles with pending tax dues and has appealed to motorists to keep all their documents up-to-date.
