50.61% voter turnout in municipal elections as of 3 p.m., surpassing 60% in several municipal bodies
Ranchi: Voting is continuing peacefully in various municipal corporations, municipal councils, and town panchayats across the district on February 23rd for the Municipal (General) Elections 2026. According to official figures, a total of 50.61% voter turnout was recorded as of 3:00 p.m.
The voting progress was as follows:
By 9:00 a.m. – 10.50%
By 11:00 a.m. – 23.23%
By 1:00 p.m. – 37.44%
By 3:00 p.m. – 50.61%
Voting is being conducted at a total of 4,307 polling stations in the district. The administration has made extensive security arrangements at all booths. Additional police forces and magistrates have been deployed at sensitive and hypersensitive polling stations.
