Ranchi: Residents of the Kanke circle area have raised concerns about not being able to contact the Circle Office over the phone. On the condition of anonymity, villagers stated that they call the Circle Officer (CO) for matters related to land records and certificates, but when the call is received, they are often told “I am on leave,” and the conversation ends there. According to them, this is causing essential work to remain pending and forcing people to make repeated visits to the office.
Villagers say that due to the lack of clear information over the phone, it is difficult to know when the CO will actually be available. As a result, the progress of various applications is being affected. Residents have urged the administration to improve the public communication system of the circle office and ensure that calls made to the official mobile number are properly attended.
Statement from CO Amit Bhagat
Responding to the issue, Kanke Circle Officer Amit Bhagat said,
“People should avoid adopting a VIP attitude and directly visit the office. I am always present in the office.”
However, villagers point out a key question: Are official mobile numbers meant only for communication between officers, or can the general public also avail services through these contact numbers?
Residents have demanded clarity on this matter.
