Under this initiative, special blood donation camps will be set up at various locations to encourage voluntary blood donation. Civil surgeons, blood banks, civil society organizations, volunteers, and District Project Officers (DPROs) will play a crucial role in raising awareness about the importance of blood donation.
Addressing officials through video conferencing on Friday, Arora urged citizens to participate voluntarily in the campaign. She emphasized the need for a strategic outreach program to highlight the benefits of blood donation and dispel common misconceptions. DPROs were advised to actively promote the campaign and collaborate with organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, and other local societies to maximize participation.
Arora also directed all civil surgeons to prepare a blood donation camp calendar and coordinate with district collectors to share details about the campaign. The program will involve the support of Members of Parliament, MLAs, District Council Chairpersons, district collectors, and police officials, who will also be invited to donate blood, sending a positive message to the public and encouraging more people to participate.
She stressed the importance of providing accurate and accessible information regarding the camps, including locations, schedules, and other relevant details. Media personnel will be engaged to support promotion efforts, while donor mapping will help identify areas with higher potential for blood donations. Priority will be given to backward districts to ensure maximum outreach.
“This campaign is just the beginning. We aim to continue these efforts consistently to maintain adequate blood stock, ensuring that no patient suffers due to a lack of blood,” Arora stated.
The video conference included all civil surgeons, DPROs, blood bank representatives, and other health department officials. The statewide initiative coinciding with Jharkhand’s 25th Statehood Day aims to inspire sustained efforts in blood donation and save lives across the state.
