Pensioners Can Submit Digital Life Certificate from Home: Director

Jharkhand/Palamu (M Bharat 24 News Live): In a major relief initiative for pensioners, the central and state governments have launched the Digital Life Certificate Campaign 4.0. This campaign aims to enable all pensioners to submit their life certificates from the comfort of their homes.

Earlier, pensioners had to stand in long queues to submit their life certificates. To raise awareness and facilitate the issuance of certificates, a camp was organized on Friday at the Indian State Bank branch and the main post office in Daltonganj. The program was attended by Rakesh Kumar, Director of the Ministry of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, Government of India. Also present were Manoj Kumar, DGM of the State Bank of India, representatives from the Indian Postal Department, bank officials, Aadhaar center operators, and other relevant department officers.

During the event, Director Rakesh Kumar personally visited a beneficiary’s home and issued an on-the-spot digital certificate to an elderly pensioner.

Speaking at the occasion, Director Rakesh said that digital certificates are issued to pensioners through the Jeevan Pramaan app. This online service requires Aadhaar-based biometric or face authentication and can be submitted from home or through nearby public service centers, banks, post offices, or special camps. This facility frees pensioners from standing in long queues every year to submit their certificates.

This year, the target is set at over 2 crore pensioners. He added that awareness campaigns are being conducted in more than 2,000 cities. Last year, 1.6 crore certificates were successfully submitted.

SBI DGM Manoj Kumar said that 90% of pensioners are linked to the State Bank of India. He described the government initiative as an excellent step and stated that efforts are being made to achieve 100% target coverage. Branches have been given special instructions to motivate pensioners to avail of the service. With this facility, pensioners no longer need to visit bank branches to submit their life certificates.

The initiative has been widely appreciated by the pensioners’ community. Kishori Sharan, District Secretary of the Pensioners’ Welfare Committee, said that pensioners are delighted with the government’s decision. Pensioners can now submit digital life certificates from home by linking their Aadhaar and mobile numbers through the app, which will greatly benefit those unable to visit banks.
