Jharkhand/East Singhbhum: Tata Steel has taken its support for Indian sports, especially archery, to a new level by participating in the first edition of the Archery Premier League with its new team, the Chero Archers.

The team's official kit was unveiled at the event, attended by Tata Steel Vice President Corporate Services D.B. Sundara Ramam, Chief CRE Manish Mishra, and Chief Sports Mukul Vinayak Chaudhary.

The team carries forward the proud legacy of the Tata Archery Academy, which has produced Olympians, award-winning coaches, and numerous champions over the years.

Chero Archers, based in Jharkhand, takes its name from the historic Chero clan, a symbol of courage, strength, and cultural traditions. The team aims to honor this legacy and elevate archery to new heights across India.

In their first match of the season, the Chero Archers played a close contest against the Chola Chiefs. Experienced and talented archers like Matthias Fullerton, Katharina Bauer, Prithika, and Atanu Das displayed outstanding skill and dedication on the field. Although the team fell short of victory, their performance impressed the spectators.

Chero Archers boasts a balanced mix of experienced players and emerging stars from India and abroad, united by a passion for archery and team spirit. Tata Steel is proud of its sporting heritage and is committed to furthering its unique contribution to archery.

On Friday, the company wished the team success in the remaining matches of the season.
