Jharkhand/Seraikela: In a major operation, police in the Kapali OP police station area of Seraikela-Kharsawan district arrested notorious criminal Sajid Ansari, alias Chhota Sajid, red-handed with a loaded pistol. On Friday, police received a tip-off that Sajid, a criminal active in the Azadnagar and Kapali areas, was planning a major crime at Sattalla Maidan, Dangodih. Based on the information, a special team was formed under the leadership of Chandil Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Arvind Binha.
The police team immediately raided Sattalla Maidan and arrested the accused with a loaded pistol. During interrogation, another loaded country-made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered at his location. A mobile phone was also seized.
Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat said on Saturday that the arrested criminal Sajid Ansari has several serious criminal cases registered against him, including attempted murder, robbery, and illegal possession of weapons. Five FIRs have been filed against him so far at the Chandil and Azadnagar police stations, which were registered between 2014 and 2024.
The SP said that the arrest of the accused is a major achievement towards controlling crime in the Kapali area.
