185 mm of Rainfall Recorded in Jharkhand's Garhwa District


Jharkhand/Ranchi: Bhawanathpur in Jharkhand's Garhwa district recorded 185 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours.

The Meteorological Department provided this information on Sunday. According to the department, the northwestern districts of the state that recorded heavy rainfall included 143 mm in Ramna in Garhwa district, 115 mm in Nagar Untari, 84.5 mm in Kharondhi, 78.6 mm in Sagma block, 76.2 mm in Bishanpur, 70 mm in Badhiya, 56 mm in Garhwa, 52.2 mm in Sonua, 46.8 mm in Masanjore, and 45 mm in Bhurkunda in Ramgarh district, among other areas.

According to the department, the low pressure area that formed over Jharkhand, western Bihar, southeastern Uttar Pradesh, and northern Chhattisgarh has weakened and moved northeastward toward Bihar. This is expected to bring clear weather in the coming days. There is no possibility of rain in Jharkhand.

During the last 24 hours, the highest temperature in the state was recorded at 30 degrees Celsius in Godda and the lowest temperature was recorded at 20 degrees Celsius in Latehar.

During this period, the maximum temperature was recorded at 25.2 degrees Celsius in Ranchi, 27.5 degrees Celsius in Jamshedpur, 29 degrees Celsius in Daltonganj, 29.1 degrees Celsius in Bokaro and 29.1 degrees Celsius in Chaibasa.

On Sunday, the weather remained clear and sunny in Ranchi and surrounding areas since morning. The sunshine brought relief.

Normal life was being affected due to intermittent rain in Ranchi and its surrounding areas for the last three-four days. People breathed a sigh of relief as the weather cleared.
