Jharkhand/Ranchi(H.S): An alert has been issued across Jharkhand regarding the banned Naxalite organization CPI (Maoist) Resistance Week. The Naxalite Resistance Week is scheduled to begin at midnight on Tuesday. Consequently, instructions have been issued to maintain special vigilance in Naxal-affected districts like West Singhbhum.
On Tuesday, at Jharkhand Police Headquarters, IG Operations, Dr. Michael Raj, briefed reporters on the security arrangements made in the state for the CPI (Maoist) Resistance Week and the one-day shutdown. The IG Operations informed reporters that there is no need to fear the Resistance Week and the one-day shutdown. Police in all districts have been alerted through Police Headquarters. The headquarters has appealed to the public that Naxalites are no longer present; only Saranda remains, with only a few remaining in other locations. Therefore, there should be no fear regarding the shutdown or Resistance Week. Operations are underway wherever Naxalites remain.
IG Operations stated that the Naxalite organization CPI (Maoist) will observe Resistance Week from October 8th to October 14th. The Naxalites have also announced a bandh on October 15th. During this bandh and Resistance Week, Naxalites attempt to establish their presence by carrying out major incidents. Consequently, an alert has been declared throughout Jharkhand.
Police Headquarters has issued instructions to ensure the security of vehicles traveling on all important railway lines, railway sidings, and railway stations, as well as highways, national highways, and other important roads. The headquarters' directive clarifies that security personnel will only be moved in Naxalite-affected areas for operational purposes. IED checks will also be conducted on routes to and from camps. National highways and other major routes will be mapped for Maoist influence. Only after this, vehicles will be allowed to move on these routes.
