Jharkhand/West Singhbhum: A soldier of the 209 Cobra Battalion has died from a snake bite during a Naxal operation in West Singhbhum (Chaibasa) district. Constable Sandeep Kumar of the 209 Cobra Battalion was reportedly bitten by a poisonous snake during an operation in the Noordha forest area of ​​the Chotanagrah police station area at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday. The soldier subsequently died during treatment. This was confirmed by IG Operations Michael Raj S on Wednesday.

It is noteworthy that lightning, snakes, scorpions, and mosquitoes pose significant challenges for security forces in West Singhbhum (Chaibasa). Several soldiers have previously lost their lives due to snake bites and malaria during anti-Naxalite operations. On May 5th of this year, Prabo Singh, second-in-command of the CRPF's 26th Battalion, was killed by lightning in Saranda, while three other soldiers were injured.
