Jharkhand/Ranchi : The three-day East Tech Symposium 2025 (Defense Expo) was inaugurated with great fanfare on Friday at the Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Khelgaon, Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. Governor Santosh Gangwar, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth, Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, and several other distinguished guests inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the event, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar said that the East Tech Symposium 2025 (Defense Expo) is a historic step. He congratulated Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth for the Defense Expo.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated in his address that Jharkhand is rich in uranium and can play a key role in nuclear weapons production. The Jharkhand government is committed to fully cooperate with the central government in making the defense sector self-reliant.
Addressing the event, CDS General Anil Chauhan stated that policy initiatives are being taken to develop space and cyber warfare equipment in light of changing global challenges. He stated that strategic weapon selection is paramount, and research and development must be reviewed to meet the requirements of modern warfare.
Chauhan stated that there is a need to expand the defense manufacturing base and explore artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies. The event was also addressed by the Union Minister of State for Defense.
It is noteworthy that the Defense Expo will be held from September 19th to 21st. This event showcases the strengths and cutting-edge technology of the country's three armed forces.
This expo, held for the first time in Ranchi, will provide new opportunities for innovation and industry in the defense sector not only to the state but to the entire eastern India. This event is considered an important step towards strengthening the "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" campaigns.
