Jharkhand/Chatra: On Monday, the doors of the idols of Goddess Durga installed in all blocks, including the district headquarters, were opened with Vedic chanting and cheers. Crowds of devotees gathered to see Goddess Durga in the puja pandals.
With the ritualistic worship, the doors of the idols of Goddess Adi Shakti Durga were opened for devotees in all the puja pandals in Pathalgada block on Monday. As soon as the doors of the idols opened, a large crowd of devotees gathered for darshan and worship. People are delighted to see the Goddess. This year, Sharadiya Navratri is being celebrated in Subhash Chowk in Pathalgada, the Devi Mandap in Navadih Bajobar, and a grand pandal in Nongaon Panchayat headquarters. The idols of Goddess Durga and other deities were created by local sculptor Mahendra Prajapati. The doors of the idols were opened amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras by Acharya Akshay Vat Dayal Sharma and Naresh Pandey at Subhash Chowk, Umesh Pandey at Navadih and Ganesh Pandey at Nongaon. On this occasion, the entire pandal and the surrounding area reverberated with the sound of drums, conch shells, bells and cheers. The famous religious tourist destinations Lemboiyia Hill, Thana Temple, Santoshi Temple Kuba and Upraili Kuba Mandap are also being worshipped by installing Kalash (earthen pots) in the temple.
