Jharkhand/Khunti: On Monday, the seventh day of Sharadiya Navratri, the Durga Puja celebrations began with the arrival of the Goddess in the form of Navpatrika in various puja pandals. With the arrival of the Goddess, the doors of all the puja pandals were opened, and prayers and rituals began.
The melodious hymns of Mata Rani playing in the pandals filled the entire atmosphere with devotion. Earlier in the morning, people from various pandals went to various water bodies with music and dance. After performing the rituals at the water bodies, Goddess Bhavani was requested to come to the pandals. After the Navpatrika was bathed in the water bodies, rivers, and ponds, devotees brought Navpatrika Devi, seated in a palanquin, to the puja pandals with full devotion. The devotion and faith of the devotees was palpable as they brought Navpatrika from the water bodies with music and dance. After the entry of Nav Patrika Devi in the pandals, there was a rush among the devotees to pay obeisance to the Mother. Later, eye donation and Saptami puja were performed. During this, Prasad was distributed among the people. After the doors of all the puja pandals of the city were opened, a crowd of devotees started gathering in the puja pandals to have the darshan of Maa Bhavani. Apart from the district headquarters, the enthusiasm of the people regarding Durga Puja is at its peak in other areas including Torpa, Karra, Murhu, Raniya. Attractive electrical decorations have been done in the pandals and the surrounding areas. At many places including Jhariagarh, Raismala, the worship of the Goddess started through Tantric method.
