The administration has appealed to the public for cooperation in maintaining law and order during the Kudmi movement

Jharkhand/Ranchi : The district administration has appealed to the public for cooperation in maintaining law and order during the disruption of rail services by the tribal Kudmi community on Saturday to demand inclusion of the community in the Scheduled Tribe list.

The district administration issued a press release on Friday stating that the Calcutta High Court has issued clear instructions that law and order should not be disrupted in any way during the movement, nor should the fundamental rights of citizens be violated.

The court has stated that the proposed rail and road blockades should not disrupt medical and emergency services, the supply of essential goods, or the normal life of the public.

Regarding the movement, the tribal Kudmi community has also assured the court and administration that their program will be peaceful and will not adversely impact the economy, transportation, or essential services.

The community has also given a written assurance that no innocent citizen will be harmed during the protest and that full cooperation will be extended to the administration.

The district administration has appealed to the public in this regard to ignore rumors. The administration has also clarified that any illegal activity or violent behavior will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those found guilty.

Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri stated that maintaining law and order and peace is the district administration's top priority. All necessary steps are being taken to ensure that the public is not inconvenienced. The situation is being continuously monitored in coordination with the Railways, Transport Department, and Police Administration.
