Latehar district records highest rainfall of 75 mm in Jharkhand

Jharkhand/Ranchi: Saryu in Latehar district of Jharkhand has recorded the highest rainfall of 75 mm. This information was given by the Meteorological Department on Wednesday.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall may occur in various districts of the state till September 15. Apart from this, moderate winds (at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour) may blow at some places. There is also a possibility of lightning. The department has issued a yellow alert regarding this.

On Wednesday, the weather remained clear in Ranchi and surrounding areas since morning and strong sunlight is being felt. Heavy humidity is also being felt. The maximum humidity in the capital Ranchi was recorded at 93 percent.

The maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 33 degrees Celsius in Ranchi, 33.8 degrees in Jamshedpur, 34.2 in Daltonganj, 36.1 degrees in Bokaro and 35.8 degrees Celsius in Chaibasa.

It is noteworthy that Jharkhand has been receiving continuous rainfall from June to September. During this period, the state has recorded 20 percent more rainfall than normal. The state has recorded 1049.7 mm rainfall from June to September as against 873.8 mm.
