Jharkhand/Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren attended the "Karam Puja Mahotsav" organized at the tribal hostel campus located in the Science Block of Ranchi Women's College on Wednesday night. On this occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren duly worshiped the Karam branch installed in the Akhara and bowed his head and wished for the happiness, prosperity, peace, progress and well-being of all the people of Jharkhand.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said in his address that we all are bound by the traditions and culture established with this land. People of every class community move forward with their own customs and culture, similarly today the people of the tribal society are celebrating the Karam Mahotsav with great pomp in this tribal college hostel campus on the auspicious occasion of Karam festival.
The Chief Minister said that like every year, this year also our sisters have gathered in the rainy season and performed this tradition with joy and gaiety, which is an example of our companionship with nature. Be it rain, storm or heat, our sisters have conducted the Karam Mahotsav every time. The Chief Minister said that Karam festival is a symbol of our rich culture, civilization and lifestyle. This festival reflects the unbreakable relationship of brother and sister, social harmony and deep faith and gratitude towards nature. The Chief Minister said that we all wish that just as our ancestors have entrusted us with the responsibility of carrying forward important occasions of collective joy like Karam festival, our generation as well as the coming generation should continue to carry forward this rich tradition with reverence and harmony. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to keep this rich tradition and culture moving forward with more strength in the times to come. The Chief Minister, on his behalf, extended heartfelt wishes of Karam Mahotsav to all the people of the state. Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth, Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey, MLA Kalpana Soren and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
