Uttarakhand/Haridwar: The Chief Secretary said that before Mahakumbh-2033, instructions have been given to start the process of wildlife clearance and forest clearance to double lane the Haridwar-Dehradun road. Along with this, he has asked the joint team of Railways, Forest and Revenue to complete the survey soon to expedite the expansion work of Harrawala railway station.
On Monday, a coordination meeting was held between the state government and DRM Moradabad Sangrah Maurya under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan in the Secretariat. During this, various issues were discussed with the Railways and the State Government. During this, the Chief Secretary asked for a joint survey to be conducted as soon as possible by the team of Rajaji National Park, Railways and DFO for Rishikesh Doiwala Railway Bypass. He also emphasized on starting the process of wildlife clearance and forest clearance.
The Chief Secretary also asked the Railways to prepare and provide the traffic management circulation plan for the Kumbh Mela soon. He also asked to include Rishikesh and Haridwar in the face lifting of railway stations. The Chief Secretary asked the Railways to nominate a fair officer for coordination in the meetings related to Kumbh 2027. He said that the Railways should also get representation in the upcoming meeting regarding the preparations for Kumbh. He also asked to prepare a mechanism for the exchange of information between the Railways and the Uttarakhand government.
The Chief Secretary said that while giving instructions to prepare a mobility plan for the entire state, a plan should be prepared keeping in mind all types of transport means and options for the next 50 years.
The final location survey of the Dehradun-Mussoorie railway project will start soon
DRM Sangrah Maurya said that the primary survey of the Dehradun Mussoorie railway project has been done. The final location survey will be started soon. He said that the final location survey of the Saharanpur Dehradun project is in progress. He said that the DPR of Harrawala railway station has been approved. The project is yet to be approved.
Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant, C. Ravishankar, Resident Commissioner Ajay Mishra, Vice President MDDA and Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari along with other senior officials were present in this meeting.
