Maharashtra/Mumbai : Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat has taken additional charge as Governor of Maharashtra on Monday. He took oath in Sanskrit language in a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Chandrashekhar administered the oath of office to him in the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan.
The swearing-in ceremony was held today in the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. On this occasion, Chairman of Legislative Council Prof. Ram Shinde, Speaker of Legislative Assembly Advocate Rahul Narvekar, Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Employment and Innovation Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Cooperative Minister Babasaheb Patil, Sports Minister Manikrao Kokate, Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Process) Manisha Mhaiskar and other senior officials were present. After the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde congratulated Governor Devvrat by presenting a flower bouquet.
Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar read out the notification issued by President Draupadi Murmu regarding the appointment of Acharya Devvrat. The program started with the national anthem and the state anthem and concluded with the national anthem. After the swearing-in ceremony, the Governor was given a guard of honor by the Indian Navy.
