Uttar pradsh/Agra: 15 days after Shri Krishna Janmashtami, on Sunday, Radha Ashtami is being celebrated with great reverence, pomp and gaiety in the districts of Braj including Barsana in Mathura.
A large number of devotees from Agra have also reached Barsana to witness the birth anniversary of Ladli ji. In Barsana, Shreeji Maharani Radha Rani appeared in a lotus flower at 4 am in the Brahma Muhurta with worship and archana. Shreeji was anointed with the water of 11 holy rivers, thousands of people participated during the Mangala Aarti at 5.30 am in the Ladli temple. Lakhs of devotees from many states have arrived to participate in the birth anniversary of Kishori ji. In Agra, worship and archana programs are going on with great pomp in Radha Krishna temples at places like Lawyers Colony, Vijay Nagar Colony, Nehru Nagar etc.
Radha Rani's 5253rd birth anniversary is being celebrated with great pomp in Braj region on Shukla Paksha's Bhadrapad Ashtami, 15 days after Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Congratulations are being given. Devotees are also celebrating Radha Rani's birth with joy. The main program of Janmotsav is being organized at Ladli Mandir in Barsana, Mathura. During Janmotsav, the atmosphere in the entire temple premises resonated with the sound of bells and chants of Radha Rani.
Devotees are traveling to Barsana in Mathura via Kosi, Chhatikara and Govardhan route. It is estimated that more than 15 lakh devotees have reached Barsana from Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh. Today, Sunday being a holiday, there was a rush of devotees to reach Barsana. Along with Barsana, devotees are reaching Mathura, Govardhan, Vrindavan, Gokul etc. places in large numbers since Saturday evening. To control the crowd, effective traffic arrangements have been made by the police, for this, adequate number of police force has been deployed by putting up barricades at many places. CCTV is being used for monitoring.
Agra's Sikandra police station in-charge Neeraj Sharma said that a large number of people are coming to Mathura to celebrate Radha Ashtami festival. Keeping in view the devotees travelling in vehicles, proper traffic arrangements have been made on the Agra Mathura highway. Police duty has been imposed here and instructions have been given to remain vigilant.
