Peace can come only with power, armies are always ready for war: CDS Chauhan

Indore: Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan said that India has always been in favor of peace, but it is not weak under any circumstances. India is a peace-loving country, but the enemy should not be under any misunderstanding. We cannot be pacifists... The army is always ready to ensure the security of the country. Quoting a Latin quote, he said, 'If you want peace, be ready for war, because peace can come only with power.

CDS General Chauhan was addressing the two-day 'Ran Samvad-2025' program of the Indian Army, which started at the Army War College in Mhow in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. He said that peace without power is only a fantasy. History is witness that real peace is possible only on the strength of strength. Quoting the famous lines of national poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, he said that forgiveness suits only those who have the strength. He said that in view of the advancement in technology and the changing nature of warfare, India will have to respond to future security challenges in a united, quick and decisive manner. He highlighted the evolving nature of warfare in land, water, air, cyber and space areas and stressed the need for greater coordination between the three armed forces - Army, Navy and Air Force.

The CDS said that 'Operation Sindoor' is still going on and many important lessons have been learned from it. He said that in the coming times, the nature of conflict will completely change, in which land, water, sky as well as space and cyber domains will play a decisive role. We have to balance these three - power, enthusiasm and strategy, taking inspiration from the Gita, Mahabharata and Chanakya Niti. Both weapons and scriptures are equally important in war. He said that future wars will be extremely dangerous and technically complex, where coordination of the three forces will be decisive. On this occasion, he also mentioned the 'Sudarshan Chakra Mission' announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on which work has started. The system to be developed under this mission will provide a security shield like Iron Dome for India by the year 2035.

CDS General Chauhan said that a multidimensional system of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) is essential in modern warfare. For this, all the sensors of land, air, sea, space and underwater will have to be connected and real-time data analysis will have to be done. Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Quantum Technology will play a major role in this. He also added that achieving all this at the minimum cost will be India's specialty.

During this, Navy Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti also emphasized the need for technological improvement while taking forward the experiences of 'Operation Sindoor'. The program will be attended by senior officers of the Army, Navy and Air Force including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amarpreet Singh. Topics like war, warfare strategy and the impact of modern technology on war will be discussed in this dialogue program. In this, not only armed forces officers but also defence industry experts, academicians and international representatives will share their views.
