Congress called the all-party meeting on OBC reservation a sham, accused the government

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has called an all-party meeting on August 28 regarding OBC reservation. Allegations and counter-allegations are going on between the ruling party and the opposition regarding the meeting. Congress state president Jitu Patwari and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Umang Singhar addressed a joint press conference regarding the matter. During this, the Congress leaders surrounded the government and made serious allegations.

Jitu Patwari said that the BJP government has done open injustice to the OBC community for 6 years. The Congress government had implemented 27% reservation by making ordinance and law under the leadership of Kamal Nath, but the BJP stopped the appointments by issuing a circular in 2021 and an order in 2022. Only 87% of the appointments were made and 13% were stopped without any legal basis. More than 1 lakh candidates were affected by this policy, thousands of candidates lost their jobs and many even committed suicide. He said that the BJP government spent 100 crores on lawyers only to stop reservation. Whereas in the media, Shivraj Singh and Mohan Yadav kept saying that they are in favor of reservation. If they were really in favor, then who stopped them from implementing the 2019 law? Now the Supreme Court itself has asked the government why this injustice happened. The government was just pretending in the name of giving OBC reservation. The government does not intend to give 27 percent reservation to OBC.

Reacting to the all-party meeting, Jeetu Patwari said that only a call has come for the all-party meeting, but written information has not come yet. If the information comes in writing, the Congress party will participate. The Congress party is already in favor of OBCs getting 27% reservation. Then what is the Chief Minister meeting about?

The all-party meeting is a sham. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar said that the OBC community is only being deceived and given slogans. The all-party meeting on August 28 called by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is just a sham. If the government's intentions are clear, then 27% reservation can be implemented by issuing an immediate order. The Supreme Court is repeatedly asking the government why the appointments were stopped. Singhar said that OBCs have got more reservation in other states, Tamil Nadu (50%), Kerala (40%), Karnataka (32%), Andhra Pradesh (29%), Telangana (42% proposed). But in Madhya Pradesh, the BJP is snatching the rights of the OBC community. He clearly said that "There is a difference between BJP's words and actions. Like vote theft, now jobs are also being stolen. Congress clearly demands that 27% reservation be implemented immediately. The all-party meeting is a conspiracy to mislead the public."
