My Stamp and special cover launched on the occasion of the centenary year and 45th convocation of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad

 

Dhanbad: On the proud occasion of the historic journey of 100 years and 45th convocation of Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad (IIT ISM), a grand launch ceremony of customized "My Stamp" and special postal cover was organized today.

   This ceremony took place in the dignified presence of Her Excellency President of India Draupadi Murmu. Along with her, on this special occasion, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Institute Chairman Professor Prem Bharat, Director Professor Sukumar Mishra, Postmaster General (Mails and Business Development), West Bengal Supriyo Ghosh, Director Postal Services, Jharkhand R.V. Chaudhary, DDM (PLI) Amit Kumar, and Assistant Director (Philately), Directorate of Posts, New Delhi Manish Srivastava were specially present. Thousands of officers, faculty members, representatives of various departments, students and parents attended the program.

   It was told that the issued postage stamps and special covers not only express the glorious history of the institute for hundred years, but also convey its unique contribution in the field of technical education to the public. This initiative is not only a philatelic honour from the Department of Posts, but it is also a historic effort to preserve the legacy of education and innovation. This material will now be available to post collectors and citizens across the country.
