Ranchi: Defense Expo is being organized in Ranchi by the Ministry of Defense, Government of India. Sectors related to defense and MSME will participate in it and will also set up their exhibition. On Saturday at 1 pm, a press conference was held at Hotel Ramda in which Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth said that the vision of the Prime Minister is to make India self-reliant in every field. Under this resolution, India is being made self-reliant to meet the defense needs, in which the time has come for Jharkhand to play an important role. He said that East Tech 2025, the fourth defense expo of Eastern India in the land of Lord Birsa Munda, will be organized in Ranchi from September 17 to September 19 at Thakur Vishwanath Indoor Stadium.
This expo - the fourth of Eastern India - was organized twice in Calcutta and once in Guwahati. Its preparation was going on in Jharkhand for the last four months. Its objective is to give a boost to the industrial areas of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Bokaro. More than 200 companies and 50 MSMEs have registered to participate in the Defence Expo. People from Jharkhand's MSME industries, trade industry, commerce industries, chambers should join; an atmosphere will be created and only then will an opportunity be found here. The Jharkhand government is also cooperating; all MSMEs, startups, DRDO should come on one platform. School and college children should also participate in this programme. The current era is of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan and Jai Vigyan. Jai Jawan, victory of Operation Sindoor, victory of Operation Mahavir, Jai Kisan, these food providers are giving free food grains to 81 crore people and Jai Vigyan where we are walking in space.
The Prime Minister's resolution is a self-reliant defence ministry; the echo of this self-reliance was seen in Operation Sindoor. The world is amazed that India, with the help of its indigenous weapons, be it drones, missiles, air defence systems or Brahmos, finished the job in just a few minutes. People could not believe that in just 22 minutes, Operation Sindoor destroyed 9 terrorist bases and 11 airbases and killed many terrorists. This is a golden opportunity for the youth of Jharkhand to find employment. The youth should see their future in the army. Now this is not the old India that keeps importing, this is the new India which is in the role of export. It is a matter of pride that last year defence production was worth Rs 1,27,000 crore, while defence export was worth Rs 23,622 crore and we are exporting to 92 countries of the world.
He also said that my becoming the Minister of State for Defence will be meaningful only when a defence industrial corridor is established in Jharkhand, which is my dream. This is the opportunity for Jharkhand to move forward. The Prime Minister and the Defence Minister have given a great opportunity to the people of Jharkhand. This is a very big step of the Defence Expo. This event is being organized for the first time in B class city, B class also has capability, skill has to be proved. This is just the beginning, we have to go a long way. We have to make Ranchi a skilled city, the day is not far when defense corridor will be established in Jharkhand. He also assured that the days of HEC will be better.
Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries General Secretary Aditya Malhotra said that MSME small entrepreneurs are getting a unique opportunity to build a defense corridor. On one hand Jharkhand is a state of minerals and mines, on the other hand people here are unemployed. Setting up industries related to minerals will eliminate unemployment here and also accelerate the economic progress of the state. In today's era, if we have to compete in the country and the world, then manufacturing should be done at the place where the produce is produced.
