Industrialist Bhajanka praised Modi government's efforts to simplify income tax

 

Kolkata: Kolkata's well-known industrialist and social worker Sajjan Bhajanka openly praised the efforts of the Modi government to simplify income tax. Bhajanka, who attended the annual conference of the Direct Tax Professionals Association (DTPA) as the chief guest on Saturday, praised the efforts of the central government towards simplifying the income tax law. He said that technology can process numbers, but it cannot apply knowledge, ethics and human judgment. It will always remain the domain of professionals.

During a one-day conference held at a five-star hotel in Kolkata, DTPA President CA Barkha Agarwal said that the theme of the conference is "Tax, Technology and Change - Redefining Professional Excellence". Advocate Narayan Jain, Founder General Secretary and Chairman of Media Relation Committee said that DTPA was established on August 28, 1982 and now has more than 2000 members which include advocates, chartered accountants and company secretaries. This annual conference is a major event of DTPA.

CA SK Sultania, Chairman of Conference Committee informed that the technical sessions include interesting topics like Benami, Income Tax, Black Money and BNS.

A souvenir was also released on this occasion. A book on Income Tax compiled by CA PR Kothari and another book on GST compiled by CA DS Agarwal and CA Vikas Parikh and their team were also released. Many former presidents including Neelima Joshi, KP Khandelwal, RD Kakra, SD Verma, MC Jagwain, Arvind Agarwal, Pramod Himmatsinghka actively cooperated in making the seminar a success.

Vice Presidents Manjulata Shukla and Mahendra Agarwal informed that more than 480 delegates have participated in the conference. General Secretary CA Shyam Agarwal expressed his gratitude.
