Hemant government should shift RIMS-2 project to Khunti instead of Nagdi: Dilip

Ranchi: Regarding the RIMS-2 project in Nagdi, social worker and RTI activist Dilip Mishra has said that the government should leave dogmatism and take a decision in the interest of the peasants.

He said that whenever the government needed land in the name of development, the tribal natives voluntarily gave their land. But even after years, if the development work is not done, then there is a provision to return the land and the government should follow it.

On Monday, while talking to journalists in the old assembly premises in Dhurwa, he said that the project construction of RIMS-2 should be shifted to Khunti instead of Nagdi. Sufficient land is available in Khunti. He said that anyway the government has already wasted crores of rupees in the name of Knowledge City Khunti project. But the structure is still intact. No one will object to starting RIMS-2 in the same structure.

Mishra said that according to the rules, if no work is done on the acquired land for 20 years, then it is mandatory to return the land to the peasants. Despite this, the officials are trying to loot the land of the farmers by indulging in corruption.

He said that the government should think that the land taken from the people of Jharkhand has not been used for years, while the villagers are continuously farming on it. In such a situation, what is the problem in returning the land? He clearly said that no one has the right to mislead the villagers in the name of displacement.
