Bandgaon: Freedom fighter Birsa Munda's death anniversary was celebrated on Monday under the aegis of Veer Birsa Munda Memorial Club in Karika village of Bandgaon block. On this occasion, hundreds of people including MP Joba Majhi present paid tribute by garlanding the statue of Birsa Munda. Chhau dance and fair were organized in Karika village on the occasion of death anniversary. Addressing the people present on the death anniversary, MP Joba Majhi said that Birsa Munda, along with being a freedom fighter, had struggled to protect his culture, land and civilization. Birsa Munda's life was full of struggle. The young generation needs to take inspiration from his life.
The MP said that the struggle that Birsa Munda had done against injustice inspires all of us. JMM's Chakradharpur block president Sunny Oraon said that the young generation should know the biography of Lord Birsa Munda. He said that when any person from other states comes to Jharkhand, he says that he has come to the land of Birsa Munda. He asked Veer Birsa Memorial Club to organize the death anniversary or martyrdom day in a grand manner so that coming generations can know about the struggle of Birsa Munda. Before this, local artists performed traditional dance. JMM central member Ramlal Munda, Mithun Gagarai, Masih Charan Purti, Alok Mundu, Prem Mundri, Piru Hembram, Tarakant Sijui, Vicky Singh, Pradeep Mahato, Jado Rai Mundri, Tinku Pahan, Loba Mundu, Lambra Mundu, Gopal Munda, Vikas Mundu, Kalidas Hasa Purti, Nandlal Mundu and a large number of villagers were present.
