Officers became scapegoats to save big fish: AJSU

Ranchi: Reacting to the arrest of senior IAS officer Vinay Kumar Choubey and Joint Commissioner Gajendra Singh by the Jharkhand Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the liquor scam case, the AJSU Party has said that Vinay Choubey and Gajendra Singh have been made 'scapegoats' so that the 'big fish' of the liquor scam sea can be saved. The AJSU Party has demanded that a CBI inquiry be conducted into the liquor scam so that the truth can come out.

AJSU Party Chief Spokesperson Dr. Devsharan Bhagat and Jharkhand agitator Praveen Prabhakar have said that between 2019 and 2022, huge losses were caused to the government treasury through illegal liquor trade and policy changes. Illegal liquor trade was promoted by changing the liquor policy in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand in connivance with an organized syndicate. AJSU leaders have questioned whether this scam did not have the patronage of the state government and the Chief Minister. How is it possible that the Chief Minister's Principal Secretary cum Product Secretary Vinay Chaubey made the policy change on his own without the knowledge of the Chief Minister and the then Minister.
