Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar Inspects 12 Houses in Chandwa Block; Directs Officials to Ensure Registration of New Voters Through Form-6
Latehar, November 2, 2026: A special Home-to-Roll Visit Campaign is underway across Jharkhand until November 12 to ensure that no eligible Indian citizen is left out of the electoral roll. On the first day of the campaign, Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar visited Chandwa block in Latehar district and inspected households to assess the status of voter registration.
During the visit, he physically verified 12 houses under two polling stations: Government Girls Middle School, Chandwa (Polling Station No. 328) and Primary School, Jamira (Polling Station No. 347). Six houses from each polling station were selected under the Systematic Random Sample Selection System for verification.
During the inspection, two eligible women, aged 28 and approximately 30 years, were found missing from the electoral roll in the area under Polling Station No. 328. Similarly, three eligible Indian citizens belonging to the 18–20 age group were found unregistered under Polling Station No. 347. None of these five individuals had submitted Form-6 for voter registration.
Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar said the objective of the campaign is to reach every household and ensure that no eligible Indian citizen is deprived of the opportunity to register as a voter. He directed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to conduct mandatory door-to-door verification and identify all eligible citizens aged 18 years and above whose names are not yet included in the electoral roll.
He also emphasised the importance of enrolling young voters and instructed election officials to facilitate their registration through Form-6. He stressed that only eligible Indian citizens should be included in the electoral roll and that no ineligible or foreign individual should be registered.
District Election Officer Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Election Officer Mary Murmu, Latehar Sub-Divisional Officer Dinesh Kumar, Chandwa Block Development Officer Chandan Prasad, Circle Officer Sumit Jha, along with concerned BLOs and other election officials, were present during the inspection.
