Ranchi, September 13, 2026: The Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand, K. Ravi Kumar, has urged all eligible Indian citizens, particularly young voters, whose names are not included in the draft electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), to submit Form-6 and the declaration form through ECINET or by contacting their Booth Level Officer (BLO).
The Election Commission of India has fixed September 15, 2026, as the last date for filing claims and objections. Citizens who have completed 18 years of age as on the qualifying date of October 1, 2026 have been asked to submit Form-6 by September 15 to ensure that their names are included in the SIR electoral roll.
CEO Appeals to Eligible Youth
K. Ravi Kumar said the electoral roll prepared through SIR is maintained as a permanent document. If eligible citizens who have attained the age of 18 do not submit Form-6 within the stipulated period, their names cannot be included in the current SIR electoral roll.
He explained that under the ongoing SIR exercise, voters and their sons and daughters are receiving exemptions from submission of certain documents based on mapping with the 2003 SIR records. Similarly, having one's name included in the current SIR electoral roll could benefit the voters and their children in the future.
Political Parties Asked to Assist Young Voters
The Chief Electoral Officer has also appealed to all recognised political parties to direct their BLA-2 representatives to encourage eligible young Indian citizens in their respective polling areas to get enrolled in the electoral roll.
The BLA-2 representatives have also been asked to assist eligible citizens in submitting Form-6 through ECINET or with the help of BLOs. Kumar said recognised political parties are important stakeholders in the preparation of electoral rolls and their cooperation is expected.
75 Polling Stations Yet to Receive a Single Form-6
A polling-station-wise review of Form-6 applications received up to September 13, 2026, found that out of 31,892 polling stations across Jharkhand, 75 polling stations have not received even a single Form-6 application.
Meanwhile, 5,591 polling stations have received 1–5 applications, 8,618 have received 6–10 applications, 11,329 have received 11–20 applications, 4,076 have received 21–30 applications, and 2,203 polling stations have received more than 30 applications.
Among polling stations with zero Form-6 applications, Ranchi has the highest number at 62. At the Assembly constituency level, Kanke (SC) has the highest number, with 52 polling stations yet to receive a single Form-6 application.
Among polling stations that have received only 1–5 Form-6 applications, Ranchi has 904, Hazaribagh 628, Giridih 515, Deoghar 455 and Chatra 369 such polling stations.
The Chief Electoral Officer has appealed to all eligible citizens to submit Form-6 before the September 15 deadline and ensure that their names are included in the current SIR electoral roll.
