Seminar at IIT Madras to Help MSMEs Reach Global Markets Through Digital Commerce
Chennai, August 20: The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) organised a national seminar at IIT Madras on August 18 to help MSMEs expand from local to global markets through digital commerce. The seminar was organised in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Madras.
The seminar brought together MSMEs, entrepreneurs, students, financial institutions and digital commerce experts. Discussions focused on export procedures, trade finance, international payments, digital onboarding, market identification and using e-commerce to access international markets.
Tamil Nadu MSME Department Additional Chief Secretary Praveen Yadav highlighted digital commerce as an important tool for connecting MSMEs with global markets. IIT Madras Professor Manu Santhanam stressed the importance of innovation and industry-academia collaboration.
The Ministry said the initiative will help strengthen the digital capabilities, export readiness and market access of MSMEs and support the vision of taking Indian enterprises from “Local to Global.”
