Rahul Gandhi Should Stop Tweeting from Delhi and Come to Jharkhand to Talk to Students: Aditya Sahu
Voice of Jharkhand Students’ Protest Continues to Echo in Parliament
New Delhi, August 13, 2026: The protest over the alleged brutal lathi-charge on students in Jharkhand continued to reverberate in Parliament on Thursday. BJP MPs staged a strong demonstration at Makar Dwar in the Parliament complex, protesting against what they described as injustice against the students. The protest was led by BJP Jharkhand Pradesh President and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu.
Addressing the protest, Aditya Sahu said that students in Jharkhand have been protesting for the past 20 days. Targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said, “Instead of playing the tweet game from Delhi, Rahul Gandhi should come to Jharkhand and talk directly to the students and youth.”
Sahu said Rahul Gandhi should speak clearly to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and demand that the government immediately consider the students’ demand for a CBI investigation. He further said that if the government refuses to accept the students’ demand, Congress should withdraw its support and stand with the protesting students.
The BJP leader alleged that the Congress-JMM government is working against the interests and rights of Jharkhand’s youth. He said the BJP stands firmly with students in their fight for employment, justice and their rights.
Questioning Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, Sahu said, “Students in Jharkhand were subjected to lathicharge, yet why does your silence continue? Why this double standard towards students in Delhi and Jharkhand?”
During the demonstration, BJP MPs raised slogans against the Jharkhand government and Congress, highlighting alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations, the action against protesting students and demanding accountability from the state government.
Besides Aditya Sahu, BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Bidyut Baran Mahato, Dr Pradeep Verma, B.D. Ram, Dhullu Mahato and Manish Jaiswal were present during the protest.
