Dr. Bharti Kashyap Honoured with Excellence Award for Contribution to Refractive Surgery and Keratoconus Treatment


Ranchi, August 11, 2026: Senior ophthalmologist and refractive surgeon from Jharkhand, Dr. Bharti Kashyap, has been honoured with the Kerato-Refractive Excellence Award for her outstanding research and clinical contribution in the field of refractive surgery.


The award was presented to her by Prof. Dr. Radhika Tandon of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS New Delhi, during the Kerato-Refractive Surgeons Conference held in New Delhi from August 7 to 9.


Presented Research on Laser Treatment for Keratoconus

At the conference, Dr. Bharti Kashyap presented her research and clinical experience on “Lasers in Keratoconus” before leading ophthalmologists from across the country and internationally renowned refractive surgeon Dr. Rohit Shetty. The presentation was followed by an extensive expert discussion, with her work receiving appreciation from leading specialists.


Two Decades of Work in Laser Vision Correction

Dr. Kashyap has been working in Jharkhand for the past 20 years in the field of laser vision correction and laser procedures for spectacle removal. During this period, she has helped thousands of young people achieve spectacle-free vision and meet the required visual standards for careers in the police, Air Force, aviation, locomotive services, Merchant Navy and other competitive professions.


Her work has also contributed to improving the confidence and quality of life of many young men and women through spectacle-free vision.


AI-Enabled Technology for Advanced Eye Care

Dr. Kashyap said that her institute has been using advanced AI-enabled laser vision correction technology for the past two years. The technology is being used not only for routine laser vision correction but also in the management of complex corneal conditions such as keratoconus, with encouraging clinical results.


She presented her clinical experience and research based on this technology at the prestigious Delhi conference, where it received appreciation from leading experts.


Dr. Kashyap said that the recognition received for work being carried out in Jharkhand at prestigious scientific conferences in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai demonstrates that the state is also making significant progress in providing world-class eye care through advanced technology.
