NALSA Veer Parivar Scheme Providing Legal Aid to Ex-Servicemen and Their Families
Ranchi, June 7, 2026: As part of a 90-day legal awareness campaign conducted by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ranchi, an awareness program was organized on Sunday at Pheta village in Hurhuri Panchayat, Ratu Block. During the event, villagers were informed about their legal rights, free legal aid, and various government schemes.
Held under the supervision of DLSA Secretary Rakesh Roshan, the program featured Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs) who explained in detail the free legal aid provided by the DLSA, as well as the processes regarding Lok Adalats, mediation, and pre-litigation.
Information regarding various welfare schemes—such as old-age pensions, widow pensions, and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana—was shared during the program. Awareness was also raised about laws against social evils like child marriage, child labor, and witch-hunting, as well as the Victim Compensation Scheme and compensation available to road accident victims.
The PLVs informed villagers that the objective of the NALSA Veer Parivar Scheme is to provide timely legal aid and easy access to justice for ex-servicemen, the families of martyred soldiers, and their dependents.
Details regarding NALSA’s toll-free helpline number (15100) were also provided, and those in need were encouraged to utilize this service. A large number of villagers attended the event. Finally, pamphlets containing legal awareness information were distributed, and details regarding the upcoming National Lok Adalat, scheduled for September 12, were shared.
