Historic MoU between the Government of Jharkhand and Indian Bank: Featuring Salary Accounts, Insurance Coverage, and Digital HRIS Facilities
Ranchi, April 15, 2026: A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of Jharkhand and Indian Bank at the Jharkhand Secretariat, in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. This agreement pertains to a ‘Salary Account Package’ for state government employees and a ‘Salary Account + HRIS (Human Resource Information System) Package’ for personnel under the National Health Mission (NHM).
Under this MoU, employees will gain access to several key benefits, notably including:
Zero-balance salary account facility
Comprehensive insurance coverage and financial security
Special benefits on overdrafts and loans
Expansion of digital banking services
HRIS-based salary and management system for NHM personnel
Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that this agreement would prove to be a robust safety shield for health workers. He noted that health workers often operate in high-risk environments; therefore, ensuring their economic and social security remains a top priority for the government.
Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, he remarked that during those challenging times, health workers served the public by putting their own lives at risk. In this context, this package represents a crucial step toward boosting their morale and providing them with a sense of security.
The Chief Minister further added that the digital infrastructure within the state is being rapidly expanded, and it is essential to extend the reach of banking services to every section of society. This MoU is expected to benefit not only government employees but, in the future, other sections of the population as well.
Specifically, this agreement will provide direct benefits to thousands of personnel working within the Health Department—including those under the NHM—thereby enhancing their efficiency and boosting their confidence.
Present on this occasion were Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, along with several other senior officials and representatives from Indian Bank.
