Corporation Cracks Down on Encroachments; Drive Conducted on Station Road and Argora
With the objective of making the city congestion-free, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation launched a comprehensive anti-encroachment drive on April 13, 2026. During this operation, temporary roadside structures located around Station Road, the Khadgara Bus Stand, and Argora Chowk were removed. The enforcement action resulted in the seizure of various items—including two pushcarts, one wooden counter, three benches, and a kiosk—and the collection of fines totaling approximately ₹5,000. In the Argora area, illegal cement flooring constructed on land designated under gift deeds was also demolished. The Corporation clarified that no form of encroachment on public land would be tolerated and appealed to citizens to voluntarily remove any encroachments.
