Hemant Soren chairs agreement on release of 23 life-sentenced prisoners
Ranchi: The 36th meeting of the Jharkhand State Sentence Review Board was held at the Chief Minister's residential office on Kanke Road. The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, thoroughly reviewed 34 cases involving life-sentenced prisoners and approved the release of 23 prisoners. The Chief Minister based his decision on the nature of the crime, reports from the court, Superintendent of Police, Jail Superintendent, and probation officers. He directed the creation of a database of released prisoners, linking them to government welfare schemes, and ensuring social rehabilitation. Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, DGP Tadasha Mishra, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
