Ranchi District Administration Issues Comprehensive Security Plan Ahead of India–South Africa 3rd ODI
The joint briefing was conducted by Inspector General of Police, South Chotanagpur Range Manoj Kausik, Deputy Commissioner–cum–District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri, and Senior Superintendent of Police Ranchi Rakesh Ranjan. During the meeting, magistrates, police officers, and station in-charges were instructed on comprehensive security arrangements.
Key Security Measures
- Deployment of adequate magistrates and police personnel inside and around the stadium.
- Three-layer security cordon: inner, middle, and outer.
- Anti-sabotage checks, bomb disposal squad, and dog squad fully active.
- Drone surveillance to monitor crowd movement and suspicious activities.
- Parking zones divided for smooth vehicle management; towing teams on standby.
- Traffic diversions and one-way routes to be enforced on major roads.
- Special security protocol for VIP/VVIP movement.
- Quick Response Teams positioned for crowd control.
- Police personnel deployed in plain clothes.
- Social media monitoring cell activated to prevent rumor-mongering.

The meeting was attended by Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar Ranchi Utkarsh Kumar, Additional District Magistrate (Law & Order) Rajeshwar Nath Alok, Superintendent of Police (City), Superintendent of Police (Rural), Superintendent of Police (Traffic), all DSPs, and station in-charges, along with a large number of magistrates and police officers.
