The program was led by LADC Assistant Shivani Singh, who focused on the harmful effects of drug consumption and substance abuse. She said, “Addiction destroys both wealth and health, leading to the breakdown of families. It is essential to give up addiction to protect one’s home and loved ones.” She also highlighted the Sathi Yojana, aimed at rehabilitating destitute children, and the Samvaad Yojana, which spreads awareness about the rights of tribal communities.
PLV Lata Kumari stated that DLSA, Ranchi regularly organizes awareness campaigns and street plays on drug eradication. She said, “Our goal is to keep youth and children away from drugs and build a drug-free society.”
PLVs Yudhishthir Mahato and Binod Kashyap emphasized the holistic development of street children and the need to protect them from substance abuse. They urged locals to report any children found consuming drugs so that DLSA can help rehabilitate them into mainstream society.
The event was attended by Tara Minz, Preeti Kumari, Raja Vama, members of Asha NGO, and local villagers.
In conclusion, the PLV team informed participants about the upcoming Special Lok Adalat on electricity-related cases scheduled for November 29, and the National Lok Adalat to be held on December 13. Pamphlets and leaflets were also distributed among attendees.
