Marandi said, “Better late than never, but finally the Chief Minister acted on our demand and removed Anurag Gupta. For that, I thank him. Otherwise, both the people of Jharkhand and the government would have faced serious consequences in the future.”
He reiterated that the opposition had consistently raised objections to Anurag Gupta’s appointment, calling it unconstitutional and illegal, and had repeatedly urged the government to take immediate action.
Taking a jibe at the government’s appointment policy, Marandi remarked, “Your government has a tradition—‘the bigger the wrongdoer, the higher the position.’ Hence, my humble advice is to grant him another respectable post so that both sides remain safe and there is no internal turmoil.” He further warned that if such a move was not made, the same person might turn into a “traitor within” and cause trouble for the government.
The BJP leader also questioned the transparency of the state’s administrative decisions, alleging misuse of power in top-level appointments. “We have repeatedly cautioned the government about such irregularities. Now that the resignation has been taken, the focus will be on what steps follow next,” Marandi added.
Meanwhile, the government has not yet issued any detailed response to Marandi’s statement. Political circles are abuzz with discussions over what this development might mean for future appointments and administrative discipline in the state. All eyes now remain on the government’s next move.
